At Drieam, we are an EdTech scale-up company with a mission to improve education. We do this with our own software to improve the lives of students, teachers and staff. Our mission is global, which is why we collaborate with top universities all over the world such as the Technical University of Eindhoven, Cambridge University, University of Edinburgh, and more recently having launched pilots with Heriot Watt University & the University of Limerick.
We have a fantastic opportunity to join our team based in the UK as a Business Development Representative (BDR)! So, if you’re a driven individual who gets excited about finding new business opportunities in the UKI and further afield, you want to make a meaningful difference in the field of education, you’re seeking an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a rapidly expanding scale-up company alongside 65 passionate colleagues? If so, this role will be of interest for you!
As a BDR, you’ll be a smart, creative, resourceful problem-solver, crafting compelling messages to attract new clients. The aim being to generate and deliver qualified leads to senior sales members in order to expand our customer base.
A TYPICAL DAY AT DRIEAM
09.00 Admin tasks. Planning & prioritising tasks, configuring a sequenced outreach campaign, lead follow-ups, and ensuring all data in the CRM is up-to-date.
10.00 Outreach. Find new prospects using multiple outreach techniques and channels (be creative!).
11.30 Sales meeting. During this session, you and the other Business Developers exchange insights on the deals you’re working on. What’s going well, what are you struggling with, and what tips do you have for the other team members to move deals through the funnel?
12.30 Lunch
13.00 Follow up with one of your hot leads. You contact them to schedule a meeting to check in on the progress, handle some objections they have, further qualify the lead, and discuss next steps.
13.30 Meeting with a Product Manager. Meeting with a Product Manager about their expectations for their product line and how we could obtain additional prospects for it.
15.00 Coffee break. If the sun is out and you decide to take a little stroll through the city with a coffee, and increase the daily step count - then go ahead!
15.30 Demo. You’re sitting at a demo from one of the Business Developers to see how they pitch the product, so that you can incorporate your key takeaways in your outreach.
16.30 Feedback. One of your marketing colleagues has asked you to help them with developing some marketing materials for the conference of next week that Drieam is attending.

Job requirements
We are looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic and committed individual to be successful. Moreover, you enjoy working with customers and the challenge of helping to close deals and grow the business. Meaning you are a self-motivated and dynamic person, who spots and creates opportunities. You can perfectly empathize with the (needs of the) prospects and help them by providing the information they need to become our trusted partner. You are comfortable with uncertainty and see any ambiguity as an opportunity to build something. Furthermore, you have:
Concluded a Bachelor's degree with a commercial background.
Solid interest and/or experience with EdTech.
Self-starter with a successful record in lead follow-up and sales development.
Trained in call structuring, conversation control, and pitching.
Experience using social selling tools.
Ability to thrive in a high-energy sales team environment.
Positive phone & interpersonal skills, excellent listening, and strong writing skills.
Fluent in English, and any additional European language is desirable.
You either live in Birmingham (UK) or Eindhoven (NL) area.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your key responsibility will be to generate business opportunities in one of our strategic growth markets - the United Kingdom & Ireland - and work on deals together with our sales & marketing team. You will work on identifying further market potential for our portfolio of products in addition to the positive traction we’re already generating, inbound and outbound lead generation, prioritising our sales efforts and thinking of new ways to create opportunities for Drieam. In this role, on a day-to-day basis you will be required to:
Prospect, educate, qualify, and develop leads to create sales-ready opportunities.
Research accounts, identify key players, and generate interest.
Engage with prospects to understand their challenges and determine valuable solutions.
Be customer-centric and overcome objections through one-on-one conversations..
Create SROs and hand off opportunities to the sales team.
Update lead and prospect information in our CRM.
Understand marketing campaigns.
Understand the Drieam products, USPs, competition, and roadmap.
